Make Your Trees the Envy of the Neighborhood
by giving them he boost they need

One of our most common services, deep root feeding re-creates a tree’s natural environment. Used for both maintenance and treatment, deep root feeding gives trees and plants what they’d normally get if they lived in their natural habitat rather than a landscaped yard.
Deep root feeding is the practice of injecting a custom, exclusive fertilizer blend – specific to your tree and it’s needs – into the root system where it needs it the most. Injecting 6″ below the ground allows us to avoid any sprinkler systems and effectively aerate the soil in the plant’s root system.
The fertilizer blend utilizes highly accessible sources of nitrogen and other nutrients to replace the natural nutrient cycling that we interrupt by removing fallen leaves and other material.
So, why do we need deep root feeding?
It comes down to a tale of two environments…
A tree in it’s natural habitat experiences:
- Largely unconstricted root expansion
- Less competition for resources
- Nutrients absorbed from composted, fallen leaves
- Little to no risk of construction damage
- Soft, loose, uncompacted soil
A tree in a landscaped yard experiences:
- Limited root space
- Competition with sod for nutrients
- Groomed lawns, void of the nutrients they would get from fallen leaves
- Risk of damage from construction
- Compacted soil from foot traffic and lack of compost
To compensate for the deficiencies that landscaped trees and plants experience, trees need deep, thorough feeds every 1 to 3 years.
If deep root feeding is overlooked, your tree will have less ability to fight off minor insect and disease problems.
The deep root feeding process
Our comprehensive feeding program begins with evaluating soil nutrient levels to create a custom blend that will ensure that your trees are healthy enough to fight off minor problems and grow to a ripe, old age.
Although all trees benefit from our special feeding program, trees that have been damaged by construction or defoliated by insects require special attention. Construction damaged trees often need to be fed through the vascular system (straight into the trunk) due to a compromised root system.
Deep root feeding is the most important step in ensuring tree health! Book a quote today to get your trees on track for vibrant health.
